It is rare for her hair to be up but tonight it has been wrangled into a messy braid against her back, at the top of which a single adornment is nestled: a plum colored moon. Her crimson red button up blouse has been tucked into the black slacks she breaks away from the norm with, top most buttons undone just enough to be enticing but not so much to be inherently distracting. The black cardigan that drapes over her shoulders does well to hide what the short sleeved blouse does not and the simple black heels, small gold rings placed sparingly on her fingers and in the chain necklace around her neck put together a simple but classy look. Perhaps a but more vibrant than she is known for however.

The sound of her heels announce her arrival as she approaches the table, the first of the night that she expected to sit at and chat with a stranger. The nonsense that brought her here leaves him mildly grumpy but it doesn't show in the usual neutral expression.

"Good evening, you must be the one waiting for me, my apologies."

In truth she had gotten a bit distracted on the way here, the wooloo who trots along shortly behind her is a chatty fellow how upon seeing another of his kind simply insisted on stopped to chat. Coaxing him to move along had taken more effort than she would have liked but she and Alexei had agreed to bring matching pokemon to whatever.... this was.

"I hope you're enjoying your evening?" it's framed like a question despite being a statement.

River oozes confidence, so much so that it comes across as obnoxious. He's overdressed and overzealous, pompous in his approach and wildly out of his league.[break][break]

Who in their right mind let a kid participate in a speed dating event?[break][break]

The boy is already sitting at his table, glancing around absently as he waits for his date to arrive. He's taken by surprise at the dramatic click of heels against the tiled floor, alerting him to a very beautiful woman approaching.[break][break]

Isra addresses him and he nearly spits his drink - a water, because he's underage.[break][break]

At the clippity cloppity of hooves, a sleeping golden Shinx stirs from under River's seat and peeks out from under the chair to peer at the Wooloo.[break][break]

"You are beautiful."

"Ah."

It's almost a little stiff as Isra takes the extra step forward to pull out the chair that is meant for her, glad she had waited had the kid not been able to control himself better. "Thank you for the flattery, you are not so bad looking yourself." a delicately worded return of the favor, his drink implies he's young enough to not be the type Isra says much to.

"Though I am sure there are others much more beautiful than I an this room right now anyway."

Then again Isra really isn't trying to be eyecatching here, she only here for the sake of a friend and nothing else.

The wool at her side starts baaing his hellos, both to the kid and to Shinx. There's no missing the confident and chatting gusto of the wooloo, unrelenting in his talking in much the same manner Isra can be.

Proper ettiquete to treat a woman is lost on the boy - too naive and overwhelmed by how many stunning people are around who, for the most part, aren't paying him any attention. Because of this, he barely notices how she stiffly seats herself, or how her phrases come across a little less warm.[break][break]

In some form, Isra compliments him in return, and River's chest seems to inflate with the size of his ego.[break][break]

"Certainly not, you are absolutely stunning, my dear."[break][break]

He offers a smile, but in such a wide-open space, he's definitely trying too hard. The boys concentration is not at its peak and he's unable to properly adjust himself. [break][break]

Shinx seems content to visit with the young sheep, and has lost all interest in the food on River's plate. [break][break]

"Are you going to eat those?"[break][break]

He asks bluntly, gesturing to the free samples of finger food on her plate, or whatever it was. His plate held only crumbs, as he hadn't bothered to wait. Clearly his nerves were getting the better of him.

the chuckle is gentle, humoring him at best. She does not fully blame him, not everyone has been taught proper manners these days and though he could use to be a little more contained in his demeanor Isra knows better than most not to judge so quickly...

Thoughts trail back to the plate in front of her and Isra makes a swift decision. A delicate hand picks up the plate and moves it to sit in front of him instead while her wooloo trots face first into the shinx chattering away about the nonsense of chaos her garden must be during the day. (It's not, the wooloo is just dramatic by nature)

"You are more than welcome to it dear, I ate before I got here." she breaths, a deep breath. "Have you had any luck yet tonight?"

A small attempt at chatter, tone cordial and gentle, exactly what one might expect of a lady.

The woman passes her plate across the table and closer to him, and his first instinct isn't to accept this as a gracious offer, but to grin widely as he digs into the food even deeper.[break][break]

In fact, he doesn't even offer a thank you, just continues to stuff his face.[break][break]

Shinx, meanwhile, is suddenly faced with a needy and talkative Wooloo who continues to bleat nonsense about the tragedies that weren't really tragedies of its day. With flattened ears, the tiny yellow cub moves to avoid and disappear from the situation - but River wasn't moving and there was no where to escape to.[break][break]

Crumbs stick to the corner of the boys mouth as Isra asks a question and he hesitates, swallowing hard and making at least a slight effort to not make a fool of himself.[break][break]

"I mean, yeah - I scored you, right?"[break][break]

"You really haven't." she blurts out, quite plainly because it's neither born out of being offended or because she's angry at the brazenness of his comment. Truly the woman is welcoming of boldness and if anything encourages it in others. Boldness, when worn right, is a strength of character she quite adores but in the given context she cannot take it as such.

Not even slightly.

Isra is shaking her head as she stands, pushing her chair away from the table and tucking it back in where it belongs. She's more eager for the chime than she expected to be right off the bat. "You should wok on your manners before you make it to your next table, please and thank you go a long way."

She whistles when she hears what she assumes to be the sound she is waiting for, and with a curt "Have a good evening." she is quick to turn and leave for her next table, heels clicking against the floor a little more swiftly as she goes than when she had arrived.
